What storage engine does Cassandra use?

Cassandra uses its own developed storage engine called Cassandra Query Language (CQL). CQL is a query language based on SQL specifically designed for the Cassandra database. It offers syntax and features similar to SQL, while also supporting features of NoSQL databases like distributed performance and high availability. CQL makes querying and manipulating data in Cassandra simpler and more intuitive.
