To set up Java environment in Idea, you can follow these steps:
- Download and install the Java Development Kit (JDK). Download the JDK version that is suitable for your operating system from the official Oracle website and follow the installation guide. Once installation is complete, remember the JDK installation path.
- Open IntelliJ IDEA, in the main interface, select “File” and then “Project Structure”.
- Click on the “SDKs” option in the left menu bar in the pop-up window.
- Click on the “+” icon on the right side of the interface, and then select “JDK”.
- Find and select the path to the JDK you have installed in the pop-up dialog box, then click “OK”.
- Select the “Project” option from the menu bar on the left side of the “Project Structure” window.
- On the right side of the interface, locate the dropdown menu for “Project SDK” and choose the JDK version that was just configured.
- Confirm the configuration, click “OK” to save and close the “Project Structure” window.
Now you have successfully set up the Java environment. In future projects, you can choose to use this version of JDK for development and execution.
