To share a folder in VMware virtual machine, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Install VMware Tools on the VMware host. Open the VMware virtual machine, then select “Install VMware Tools” from the “Virtual Machine” menu. This will install the necessary drivers and tools in the virtual machine.
  2. Enable shared folder functionality in VMware virtual machine. In the virtual machine, choose the “Virtual Machine” menu, then select the “Settings” option. In the “Options” dialog box on the left side, select the “Shared Folders” option. In the right pane, click the “Add” button and select the folder you want to share. You can choose to set the shared folder to automatically connect and read-only.
  3. Access a shared folder in a virtual machine. Once the virtual machine is running, in the “Computer” or “File Explorer” within the virtual machine, display the shared folder as a network drive, for example as “Z:\” or “\vmware-host\Shared Folders\”.

Please note that the shared folders in the virtual machine are only accessible when VMware Tools is installed and running. If VMware Tools is not installed or running properly, the shared folders will not be accessible. Make sure to follow the instructions in the first step to correctly install VMware Tools.
