How do you partition a Win11 system?
In Windows 11, you can use the Disk Management tool to partition your hard drive. Here are the steps for partitioning a hard drive.
- Open the Disk Management tool. You can open the Disk Management tool by pressing the Win + X keys and then selecting “Disk Management.”
- In Disk Management, you will see a list of your hard drive and partitions.
- Select the hard drive you want to divide, right-click on it, and choose “Shrink Volume.”
- In the pop-up dialog box, enter the size (in MB) to be assigned to the new volume.
- Click the “collapse” button to shrink the selected volume.
- You will see the new unallocated space in Disk Management. Right-click on it and select “New Simple Volume”.
- In the new simple volume wizard, follow the instructions. You can choose the size, drive letter, and file system of the volume.
- After completing the wizard, you will see a new volume in disk management.
Please note that partitioning a hard drive will erase all data on it, so please make sure to back up important data before partitioning.
