How do I check the Ubuntu version?
You can use the following command to check the version of Ubuntu:
- Open the terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T).
- Display information about the Linux distribution and release version
- The terminal will display your Ubuntu version number and other relevant information.
Additionally, you can also check the Ubuntu version through system settings.
- Click on the “Activities” icon in the top left corner of the screen (for Ubuntu 17.10 and higher versions) or the Ubuntu logo in the top left corner (for Ubuntu 16.04 and lower versions).
- Type “Settings” in the search bar and open the system settings.
- In the system settings window, click on “Details” (for Ubuntu 18.04 and newer) or “Details” -> “About” (for Ubuntu 16.04 to 17.10).
- You will be able to see the version number of your Ubuntu.
