Here is a detailed tutorial on installing and configuring Internet Information Services (IIS).

  1. Open the control panel: Click on the Windows start menu, then select “Control Panel”.
  2. Open “Programs and Features”: In the Control Panel, locate and click on “Programs and Features” or “Uninstall a program”.
  3. Open “Turn Windows features on or off”: Click on the “Turn Windows features on or off” link in the left panel of the “Programs and Features” window.
  4. Enable IIS feature: In the “Windows Features” window, locate and expand the “Internet Information Services” node. Check the options for “Web Management Tools,” “World Wide Web Services,” and “Application Development Features.” Click the “OK” button.
  5. Installing IIS: The system will begin installing IIS and its related components. This may take some time, so please be patient.
  6. Set up IIS: After installation, open the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. Click on the Windows start menu, then type “IIS Manager” in the search bar, and click on the opened application.
  7. Add a website: In the IIS Manager, right-click on “Sites” and then select “Add Website”.
  8. Set up website information: Enter the website name and physical path in the “Add Website” dialog box. Choose an IP address and port number to bind the website. You can also choose to use the default IP address and port number. Click the “OK” button.
  9. Website binding configuration: In the website properties window, click on the “Binding” button. In the “Website Binding” dialog box, click on the “Add” button. Select an IP address and port number to bind the website. Click on the “OK” button.
  10. To set up default documents, click on the “Default Document” icon in the website properties window. Add or remove default documents from the list and then click on the “OK” button.
  11. To configure directory browsing, click on the “Directory Browsing” icon in the website’s properties window. Choose the “Enable Directory Browsing” option and click on the “OK” button.
  12. Set up authentication: In the website properties window, click on the “Authentication” icon. Choose the authentication method you want to enable. Click the “OK” button.
  13. Start the website: In the IIS manager, right-click on the website that was just added and select “Start”.

The installation and configuration of IIS have been completed. You can now access the website and make additional configurations and manage as needed.
