How to uninstall Ubuntu?
To remove the Ubuntu operating system, you will need to either reinstall another operating system or format the hard drive. Here are two methods:
- Reinstalling a different operating system:
- Obtain the installation media for the operating system to be installed, such as a Windows installation disk or USB boot drive.
- Insert the installation media into the computer and restart the computer.
- Press the appropriate key (usually F2, F10, F12, or the Delete key) during startup to access BIOS settings.
- Modify the boot sequence in BIOS settings to prioritize the CD drive or USB device for startup.
- Save the changes and exit the BIOS settings.
- The computer will start up from the installation media and display the installation program.
- Follow the instructions of the operating system installation program, select the location and other options you want to install.
- After installation is completed, you will have a new operating system and will be able to choose which operating system to use at startup.
- Format the hard drive.
- Back up your important files and data on Ubuntu in advance.
- Start the computer using the Windows installation CD or USB boot disk.
- Select “Custom Installation” or “Advanced Options” during the installation process.
- Locate the hard drive partition where Ubuntu is installed and choose to delete it.
- Confirm the deletion operation and format the hard disk partition.
- After formatting, you can choose to install another operating system on that partition or leave it as unallocated space.
No matter which method you choose, make sure to back up important data beforehand and proceed with caution to avoid accidentally deleting other important files or partitions.
