In Windows operating system, you can use the Disk Management tool to partition hard drives. The following are the steps for partitioning.<\/p>\n

  1. Open the Disk Management tool: You can open the Disk Management application by typing “Disk Management” in the Windows search bar.<\/li>\n
  2. Choose the hard drive you want to partition: On the Disk Management interface, all connected hard drives on the computer will be displayed. Select the hard drive you want to partition.<\/li>\n
  3. Shrink Volume: If the hard drive has already been partitioned, you can first select the volume you want to shrink. Right-click on the partition and choose “Shrink Volume”.<\/li>\n
  4. Enter the reduced size: In the pop-up dialog box, enter the size (in MB) you want to reduce. You can see the available space and total space information. Click the “Reduce” button.<\/li>\n
  5. Create a new volume: After shrinking the volume, there will be some unallocated space. Right-click on the unallocated space and select “Create Simple Volume”.<\/li>\n
  6. Utilize the New Volume Wizard: With the New Simple Volume Wizard, you can customize the size, file system, and drive letter of the new partition as needed.<\/li>\n
  7. Assigning drive letter and file system: In the process of assigning drive letter and file system to the new partition, you can choose an available drive letter and file system type.<\/li>\n
  8. Finish Partitioning: After completing the setup of the new partition, click the “Finish” button. The new partition will be created and displayed on the disk management interface.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
