  4. Press the Enter key after selecting “Advanced options for Ubuntu” using the up or down arrow keys.<\/li>\n
  5. In the next menu, select the option that says “recovery mode” or something similar, and press the Enter key.<\/li>\n
  6. Next, you will see some startup and recovery options. Select “root Drop to root shell prompt” and press the Enter key.<\/li>\n
  7. Now, you will enter a command line interface where a prompt such as “root@your_computer_name:~#” will be displayed.<\/li>\n
  8. You can perform various commands, including modifying GRUB settings, under this prompt.<\/li>\n
