Its usage is as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Remove the specified character from the string.<\/p>\n<p>The specified character is optional. If not provided, leading and trailing whitespace characters will be removed by default. If the specified character is provided, all characters contained in the specified character will be removed from the beginning and end of the string.<\/p>\n<p>For example, here are some examples of using the TRIM function:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Remove the spaces at the beginning and end of the string:<br \/>\nSELECT TRIM(&#8216;   hello   &#8216;) AS trimmed_string;<\/li>\n<li>The result is &#8216;hello&#8217;.<\/li>\n<li>Remove specified characters from the beginning and end of a string &#8211; for example, commas and spaces.<br \/>\nSELECT TRIM(&#8216;, &#8216; FROM &#8216;, hello, &#8216;) AS trimmed_string;<\/li>\n<li>The outcome is &#8216;hello&#8217;.<\/li>\n<li>Remove multiple specified characters from the beginning and end of a string:<br \/>\nSELECT TRIM(&#8216;., &#8216; FROM &#8216;, hello. &#8216;) AS trimmed_string;<\/li>\n<li>The outcome is &#8216;hello&#8217;.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>It is important to note that the TRIM function can only remove characters at the beginning and end of a string, and cannot remove characters in the middle of a string.
