If custom objects need to be sorted, the natural ordering of the elements can be defined by implementing the Comparable interface.<\/li>\n<li>By using the Comparator interface, you can define a custom comparator and pass it to the Collections.sort() method. This allows you to sort elements based on specific criteria without modifying the element class.<\/li>\n<li>With the introduction of Java 8, a new List interface method, sort(), was added. This method, similar to Comparator, allows for sorting a list by accepting a comparator.
