The TRUNCATE statement is used to delete all data in a database while keeping the table structure.<\/p>\n

The general syntax for using the TRUNCATE statement is as follows:<\/p>\n

Clear all data in the table called table_name;<\/p>\n

Here, table_name is the name of the table from which data is to be deleted.<\/p>\n

Important points to note:<\/p>\n

  1. The TRUNCATE statement is a DDL (Data Definition Language) command, so it automatically commits the transaction when executed.<\/li>\n
  2. The TRUNCATE statement does not activate triggers on a table.<\/li>\n
  3. The TRUNCATE statement is unable to recover deleted data.<\/li>\n
  4. The TRUNCATE statement can be used within a transaction, but it cannot be mixed with other DML (Data Manipulation Language) statements such as SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
