Tablespaces in Oracle databases are logical structures used for storing database objects. A tablespace can contain one or multiple data files, which can be located on one or multiple disks.<\/p>\n

Here is the method to use Oracle tablespace:<\/p>\n

  1. To create a tablespace, you can use the CREATE TABLESPACE statement to establish a new storage space. This statement allows you to specify the tablespace’s name, the location and size of the data files, and their scalability options.<\/li>\n
  2. Allocate tablespace to a table: When creating a table, you can specify which tablespace to store the table in. The ALTER TABLE statement can be used to move an existing table to a different tablespace.<\/li>\n
  3. Allocate table space to an index: When creating an index, you can specify which table space to store the index in. You can use the ALTER INDEX statement to move an existing index to a different table space.<\/li>\n
  4. To expand a tablespace, you can increase the size of existing data files or add new ones when the current data files are unable to accommodate more data. You can use the ALTER TABLESPACE statement to increase the size of data files and the ALTER DATABASE statement to add new data files.<\/li>\n
  5. Monitor tablespace usage: You can use the system views V$TABLESPACE and DBA_TABLESPACES to monitor the usage of tablespaces. These views can display information such as the total size, used space, and remaining space of the tablespace.<\/li>\n
