Installation tutorial for Debian

Here are the steps for installing Debian:

  1. Download the ISO image file of the Debian operating system. You can find the latest ISO image file on the official Debian website and choose the appropriate version (such as Debian 10) and suitable architecture (such as amd64) to download.
  2. You can write the ISO image file to installation media by choosing to either write it to a USB flash drive or a disk. Tools like Rufus (for Windows) or Etcher (for Windows, Linux, and Mac) can be used to complete this step.
  3. Insert the installation media into the target computer and start the computer. Make sure the computer’s boot order is set to boot from the installation media.
  4. During startup, the Debian installer will appear on the screen. Select the appropriate language and keyboard layout.
  5. Select “Install” on the main menu of the installation program to begin the installation process.
  6. Configure the computer’s system settings such as hostname, domain name, and timezone based on the prompts given.
  7. During the “Partition Disk” step, you can choose to manually partition or use automatic partitioning. If you are not familiar with partitioning operations, it is recommended to choose the automatic partitioning option.
  8. In the “Set User Account” step, create accounts for both the root user and a regular user.
  9. The installation program will prompt you to choose the installation source for the software packages. You can choose to use the default Debian software repository, or customize by using other mirror sources.
  10. The installation program will download and install the selected software packages. This process may take some time, depending on your network speed and the number of packages selected.
  11. Once the installation is complete, the installer will prompt you to restart the computer. It will also require you to remove the installation media to avoid reboots to the installer.
  12. After removing the installation media, the computer will reboot and enter the Debian operating system that was just installed.

These are the basic steps for installing Debian. It is important to make appropriate settings according to your own needs during the installation process, such as selecting software packages, partitions, network configurations, etc.
