Install Debian 6 on VirtualBox: Step-by-Step
The steps to install Debian 6 (Squeeze) are as follows:
- You first need to download the ISO image file for Debian 6. You can download it from the official Debian website: https://www.debian.org/releases/squeeze/
- Install the VirtualBox software. You can download and install it from the official VirtualBox website: https://www.virtualbox.org/
- Open the VirtualBox software and select the “New” button in the menu bar to create a new virtual machine.
- Enter the name of the virtual machine in the pop-up window, choose “Linux” as the operating system type, and select “Debian” as the version. Click on “Next”.
- Choose the memory size for the virtual machine. It is recommended to allocate at least 512MB of memory. Click “Next”.
- Choose “Create a virtual hard drive” in the hard drive options. Click on “Create”.
- Select “VDI (VirtualBox Disk Image)” in the virtual hard disk file type option. Click “Next”.
