How to import an external database with Navicat?

To import an external database, you can follow these steps:

  1. Open the Navicat software and connect to a local or remote database server.
  2. After successfully connecting, expand the left-hand connection tree and locate the database where you want to import data.
  3. Right-click on the database, then choose the option “Import Wizard” or “Import Data”.
  4. In the popup import wizard window, select “External File” as the data source, and then click “Next.”
  5. In the next window, choose the type of file you want to import, such as CSV, SQL, etc., and select the file you want to import.
  6. Make sure to choose the correct character set and other import options, then click “Next”.
  7. In the next window, select the target table or create a new table where you want to import the data, and specify the import method (append, replace, etc.).
  8. After clicking “Next”, you can preview the imported data in the next window.
  9. Finally, click the “start” button to begin the import process.

After completing the above steps, Navicat will automatically import the external database you have chosen. You can view the progress during the import process and check the import results after completion.
