Export Runnable JAR in Eclipse: Step-by-Step
To export a runnable JAR file, you can use the built-in functionality in the IDE (Integrated Development Environment). Here are the steps to export a runnable JAR file using Eclipse IDE:
- Open Eclipse IDE and make sure that your Java project is already opened.
- In Eclipse, right-click on the project name and select “Export”.
- In the “Export” dialog box, choose “Runnable JAR file” under “Java” and then click on “Next”.
- On the “Runnable JAR File Specification” page, select the launch configuration to export and the location to save the JAR file.
- In the “Library handling” section, choose to bundle the libraries into the JAR file or to bundle them outside the JAR file and specify their locations in the MANIFEST.MF file.
- Click on “Finish” to complete the export process.
After completing the above steps, you will obtain an executable JAR file that you can run in the command line or double-click to run your Java application.
