How do you output database using a table in PHP?
In PHP, you can use HTML tables to display data from a database.
Let’s say we have a database table named “users” that includes fields for id, name, and email.
Firstly, connect to the database.
$servername = "localhost";
$username = "username";
$password = "password";
$dbname = "database";
$conn = mysqli_connect($servername, $username, $password, $dbname);
if (!$conn) {
die("Connection failed: " . mysqli_connect_error());
}
Next, retrieve data from the database and store the results in a variable.
$sql = "SELECT * FROM users";
$result = mysqli_query($conn, $sql);
Next, utilize an HTML table to display the search results.
if (mysqli_num_rows($result) > 0) {
echo "<table>";
echo "<tr><th>ID</th><th>Name</th><th>Email</th></tr>";
while ($row = mysqli_fetch_assoc($result)) {
echo "<tr><td>".$row["id"]."</td><td>".$row["name"]."</td><td>".$row["email"]."</td></tr>";
}
echo "</table>";
} else {
echo "0 results";
}
Finally, close the database connection.
mysqli_close($conn);
The complete code is shown below:
$servername = "localhost";
$username = "username";
$password = "password";
$dbname = "database";
$conn = mysqli_connect($servername, $username, $password, $dbname);
if (!$conn) {
die("Connection failed: " . mysqli_connect_error());
}
$sql = "SELECT * FROM users";
$result = mysqli_query($conn, $sql);
if (mysqli_num_rows($result) > 0) {
echo "<table>";
echo "<tr><th>ID</th><th>Name</th><th>Email</th></tr>";
while ($row = mysqli_fetch_assoc($result)) {
echo "<tr><td>".$row["id"]."</td><td>".$row["name"]."</td><td>".$row["email"]."</td></tr>";
}
echo "</table>";
} else {
echo "0 results";
}
mysqli_close($conn);
This way, the data from the database can be outputted using an HTML table.
