Reinstall Ubuntu Without Losing Data
When reinstalling the Ubuntu system, you have two options to keep your existing data:
- Utilize backup tools such as Deja Dup or Timeshift to store your data on external storage devices like USB drives, hard drives, or cloud storage. After reinstalling Ubuntu, you can use the backup tool to restore your data.
- Partitioning method: If your Ubuntu system is using multiple partitions (such as separating system files and personal files), you can reinstall the system by only formatting the system partition without affecting the personal files partition. After reinstalling Ubuntu, your personal files will remain in the original partition.
No matter which method you choose, make sure to backup important data before reinstalling the system to prevent unexpected data loss.
