How can I access the command line interface in CentOS?

To access the CentOS command line interface, follow these steps:

  1. After turning on the computer, enter your username and password on the login screen.
  2. After successful login, you will be taken to the default graphical interface.
  3. Open the terminal or console. You can quickly open the terminal by pressing the Ctrl+Alt+T key combination or by searching for “terminal” in the application menu at the top left corner of the desktop.
  4. After opening the terminal, a command line interface will appear where you can input various commands and execute them.

If you want to access the command line interface instead of the graphical interface, you can press the Ctrl+Alt+F2 key combination at the login screen to switch to the virtual terminal (TTY2), where you can enter your username and password to log in. For other virtual terminals, you can use the Ctrl+Alt+F3, Ctrl+Alt+F4, and so on key combinations. To return to the graphical interface, press the Ctrl+Alt+F1 key combination.
