How to set up automatic IP connection for internet access on OpenWRT?
To automatically obtain an IP and connect to the Internet on OpenWrt, you can follow these steps:
- Access the web management interface of OpenWrt by entering the router’s IP address, which is typically 192.168.1.1, in your browser and logging in with your username and password.
- In the web management interface, locate and click on the “Network” tab, then choose “Interfaces”.
- Go to the “Interface” page, locate and click on the “LAN” interface, and then click on “Edit”.
- On the “Interface Configuration” page, make sure the “Protocol” under “General Settings” is set to “DHCP Client.”
- In the “Physical Settings” under “General Settings”, make sure to select “None” for the “Bridge Interface”.
- Click on the “Save & Apply” button to save the settings and make them take effect.
After completing the above settings, OpenWrt will automatically obtain an IP address via DHCP and connect to the Internet. You may try restarting the router to ensure the settings take effect.
Please note that the steps mentioned above may vary depending on the version of OpenWrt, but the general process is similar. If you encounter any issues, please refer to the official documentation of OpenWrt or seek relevant technical support.
