How to check which ports are being used on Windows?

In Windows operating system, you can check which ports are being used by following these methods:

  1. To utilize the command prompt: open the command prompt (press Win+R keys, type cmd and press enter), then enter the command netstat -ano, pressing enter will display all ports currently in use along with their corresponding Process ID (PID). Locate the PID corresponding to the specified port in the output, then find the corresponding process in Task Manager.
  2. To use Resource Monitor: Open Resource Monitor (press Win+R keys, enter resmon and hit Enter), you can view all the ports and corresponding processes being used in the “Network” tab.
  3. Utilize third-party tools: You can also use some third-party port viewing tools, such as TCPView and CurrPorts, which offer a more intuitive and user-friendly interface to display information about occupied ports and provide more detailed information.

No matter which method you use, you can view the ports that are being occupied and identify the corresponding processes.
